The NewYork ISC is one of the most respected international spirits competitions in the world as only expert trade buyers are judging the spirits.

These judges whose livelihood rely upon their skills set, truly know the spirit consumers as they receive on a daily basis their feedback.

Resulting from these professional blind tastings ABK6 Cognac VS has received the GOLD Award and the ABK6 estate is crowned « Cognac Producer of the Year ».

ABK6 Cognac celebrates its 10th Anniversary

He launched this contemporary Cognac brand in 2005 to appeal to a younger audience than traditional cognacs. The name, spoken in French, sounds exactly like “Abécassis”. It was used by his daughters as an abbreviated sign-off in text messages and few years later, Elodie, now heads the business with her father.

In 2015, ABK6 celebrates its 10th Anniversary with many events and surprises. Known from the start as innovative and seducing new generations of spirits consumers, ABK6 will continue to do so by launching new unique products all year long and will organise worldwide celebrations of its anniversary.

We are proud to announce that our Cognac Leyrat XO Vieille Reserve has received the Silver medal. Part of the prestigious Spirits Masters driven by The Spirits Business, one of the most influential international magazine dedicated to spirits, The Cognac Masters released its medal winning list. The awards results from a scrupoulous blind tasting.

One of the key element of the Spirits Masters success is the quality, the independance and the dedication of the judges involved.

Our XO Vieille Reserve expression is typical of LEYRAT range

Old gold in colour.

A complex nose opens with nutty aromas, pastry, butterscotch and a hint of dry leaves.

The nose evolves to more pronounced dry fruit and nuts with vanilla undertones.

The palate is present and initially quite dry with the long clean finish.

Festi’Classique aux Domaines Francis Abécassis Cognac

 

 

Festi ‘Classique en Pays de Cognac est né d’une volonté de marier l’excellence : celle de la Musique à celle du Cognac.

 

Festi’Classique en Pays de Cognac est animé par l’ambition de faire découvrir les talents les plus brillants de la musique classique (piano, violon, violoncelle, chant, harpe, flûte, guitare, trompette, trombone, etc.), avec pour écrin les crus de Cognac les plus prestigieux que ce vignoble produit. Ainsi, de notes chromatiques en notes aromatiques, chaque concert, suivi d’une dégustation, porte nos valeurs d’Excellence, de prestige et de beauté.

 

 

Elodie et Francis Abécassis, en tant que grand amateurs de musique classique, ont accueilli cette deuxième édition avec bonheur au sein du grand Chai des Tonneaux de leur Domaine.

 

Ce mercredi 10 septembre 2014, le public présent au Domaine de Chez Maillard, à Claix,  a pu découvrir ou redécouvrir Hervé N’Kaoua, fil rouge et directeur artistique de Festi’Classique, au cours d’un envoûtant récital de Piano.

 

 

Le virtuose a offert des airs connus de Schubert ou de Ravel, mais aussi livré quelques extraits de compositeurs moins populaires, comme Albeniz.

 

 » Félicitations à Herve NKaoua pour son génie et l’émotion de ce concert. Merci également pour ses explications tout au long du récital qui nous ont permis de mieux connaître les compositeurs et leurs inspirations.

ABK6 Cognac was launched by Francis Abécassis in 2006 to appeal to a younger audience than traditional cognacs. The name, spoken in French, sounds exactly like “Abécassis”. It was used by his daughters as an abbreviated sign-off in text messages and seven years later, Elodie, now aged 27, heads the business with her father.

the characteristic fruitiness of ABK6’s cognacs comes from the chalky soil and climate of the hilltop vineyards. Another difference is that the eaux-de-vie are aged for longer than other mainstream brands.

According to the tasting judging panel ABK6 COGNAC VSOP is extremely appealing, with an easy going style, full and rich. Driven by apple pie and cinnamon, the nose displays orange, vanilla and hazelnut aromas, which carry through onto the palate and provide an excellent finish.

Dame Jeanne 3,30 Litres : “Tradition” by Cognac ABK6

This unique “Dame-Jeanne” in blown glass was produced by the famous Verrerie Biot and contains a precious and very old Cognac, both rich and complex, to be served with the traditional glass “pipette”. From very early on, the most exquisite Cognacs have been stored in the traditional glass recipients “Dame-Jeanne” upon reaching maturity. These famous largecapacity bottles with curves protected the eaux‑de‑vie from the air and from light, in order to preserve all of their qualities. We wanted to honour this ancestral tradition by putting this Cognac ABK6 in an authentic 3,3-litre “Dame Jeanne”, from the famous Verrerie de Biot. Tradition by ABK6 is a rich, supple and generous Cognac with vast aromatic complexity. Aromas of cedar, candied fruit and honey intermingle, producing a long-lasting taste and incomparable dimension and richness. To serve Cognac ABK6, this “Dame Jeanne” comes with an old glass pipette, used daily by the cellar master.

Anniversary set of two Porcelaine decanters: Cognac Leyrat

To celebrate the plantation of the vineyards at the top of the hill on the Domaine LEYRAT 40 years ago, a collector’s edition was created, with two antique Limoges porcelain decanters: LEYRAT XO and EXTRA. In 1973, the vineyards “Combe de Cormier” were planted on the Domaine de Chez Maillard. Forty years later, we are still benefiting from the vines planted at that time. We therefore take this opportunity of the 40th anniversary to remember that anything outstanding which is allowed to mature become magnificent. This luxury wooden box containing two authentic Limoges Porcelaine decanters, reminds the authenticity of French savoir-faire. LEYRAT XO unveils spicy notes in perfect balance with rancio. Cinnamon, gingerbread and liquorice elegantly enhance this very old Cognac. LEYRAT EXTRA offers aromatic richness, finesse and exceptional elegance. Aromas of rancio, woody spices such as cinnamon, ginger and cigar box, followed by ripened fruits develop during tasting. N° 1 (of limited edition of 12)
